4-Post Shelving
Traditional 4-post shelving contains uprights, shelf supports and shelf reinforcements that have keyhole quick lock technology to make installing, changing, and modifying the shelving units a snap. The uprights allow you to modify the shelf spacing every 1-1/2" vertically to help maximize the storage based on the media size and architectural limitations.
The shelving can be in standard widths, 24", 30", 36", 42" and 48" wide. They come in standard depths of 10", 12", 15", and 20",
24", 30" and 36" deep. A typical unit can be combined with an add on unit by sharing a common post to allow you to gain inches
which can be critical when laying out an office. All shelving is power coated and can have solid end panels or dressed up with
laminate, perforated metal or wood trim.
The 4-post hybrid called "SmartShelf" offers a unique twist on the traditional 4-post shelving. SmartShelf has the standard
standard keyhole spacing on the sides of the post but it also has a special slotted system on the front of the posts allowing
a "hooked" shelving unit to be adjustable every 1" vs. the 1-1/2" of a standard support system.
SmartShelf also provides a complete shelf dimension that doesn't have any of the shelf opening being put behind the post which makes for a cleaner retrieval process and maximizes the care for the media being stored. The SmartShelf unit comes in all the standard widths and depths that the traditional 4-post shelving does, but it also offers a 1 meter shelf which is 39" wide. This unit will maximize your storage of standard banker boxes with (3) boxes across each row.
SmartShelf can use the starter/adder principal and it can also use common posts to help maximize the use of floor space. All of the same accessory items can be installed on the SmartShelf that you can find in the traditional 4-post applications.
